Bridge of Weir

Local Place Plan (LPP)

Completed in 2025, the Local Place Plan (LPP) sets out priorities for the village, based on a series of public consultations in 2024 and 2025.

See the highlights below, read the whole Plan in the Posts section.

Highlights from our Local Place Plan

This Local Place Plan has been prepared by the Bridge of Weir Community Council following more than 18 months of resident engagement and consultation. It sets out a series of ‘Ambitions’ for the village together with associated transformational objectives and key actions aimed at improving village life through the development of its places and buildings. It is the first time that Bridge of Weir has had a Local Place Plan, or indeed any kind of community plan, and hence will be subject to improvement and adjustment as time progresses.

Our ambitions for BoW:

AMBITION #1: People find it easier to travel within and beyond the village without using a car

AMBITION #2: The village retains and enhances its existing green spaces and natural habitats

AMBITION #3: The village attracts and retains a range of successful small businesses that service local needs

AMBITION #4: Young people have a range of facilities that enhance their enjoyment of the village.

Ambition #5: More local people have the opportunity to remain in the village as they build careers and families or when their circumstances change.
